1. Hike the Anse Major Trail

This was hands down the most beautiful hike we did in all of the Seychelles—an absolute must-do! The trail is relatively easy but takes about 1.5 hours to complete. You walk roughly 100 meters above sea level, offering constant panoramic views of the sparkling ocean below.

Since the path is fully exposed to the sun, it’s wise to wear a hat and bring plenty of water. The scenery along the way is breathtaking, with dramatic cliffs, lush greenery, and turquoise waters stretching into the horizon.

At the end of the trail, you’ll arrive at a small, secluded beach—perfect for a refreshing swim. Tucked away in a corner, there’s a charming little beach bar where you can enjoy a cold drink and even grab a bite from the barbecue.

2. Visit Eden Island

Eden Island is a fully man-made Island just off the coast of Mahé, and it’s where luxury meets leisure. Known for its upscale vibe, this area is home to some of the most exclusive hotels and private residences in the Seychelles.

While much of Eden Island is residential, you can freely explore the public areas. It’s not very large, but definitely worth a visit—especially to admire the elegant marina filled with yachts and stroll through the boutique shopping center. Whether you're window-shopping or simply soaking in the atmosphere, Eden Island offers a glimpse into the more glamorous side of island life.

3. Stop at La Misère Viewpoint

While cruising around Mahé by car, you’ll likely find yourself driving over some of the island’s highest peaks. That’s the perfect moment to pull over at La Misère Viewpoint—a scenic stop that offers breathtaking views over Mahé’s eastern coastline.

From here, you’ll get a stunning panorama of lush hills, turquoise waters, and a clear look at Eden Island, with its elegant marina and luxury villas. It’s a peaceful spot to pause, snap a few photos, and soak in the natural beauty of the Seychelles from above.

4. Take a Road Trip Along Mahé’s West Coast Beaches

Along Mahé’s west coast, you’ll find one stunning beach after another. We drove the entire coastline and discovered some great stops worth visiting. You’ll pass a beautiful beach perfect for snorkeling and paddleboarding, walk across the most picturesque sandbank, and find a gorgeous spot to watch the sunset. 5. Hike the Morne Blanc Trail

This short but intense hike takes you to one of the highest points on Mahé. The trail is well-marked, with signs indicating distances along the way. The ascent is steady and continuous, following a well-maintained path through lush forest. Expect to spend about an hour climbing—bring plenty of water, as it’s a sweaty trek.

The reward at the top is absolutely worth it: a breathtaking view over Mahé’s west coast. From the summit, you’ll see a dense, green jungle cascading into endless shades of blue ocean. It’s a true “wow” moment.
