THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN TRAVELLING TO VIETNAM
Decided to travel to Vietnam? Great choice! Below you'll find all the essential tips you need before you go, so you won’t be caught off guard once your adventure begins.
When to travel?
Vietnam’s climate varies widely by region, so choosing the right time to visit can make all the difference.
If you're planning this itinerary through Northern and Central Vietnam, the ideal travel window is February to April. During these months, you'll enjoy pleasant weather in both regions—cool and dry in the north (like Hanoi and Ha Long Bay), and warm with minimal rainfall in the central areas (such as Hue and Hoi An).
Visa!
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, make sure to apply for your visa well in advance. While the process is fairly straightforward, approval can take a few days—and sometimes longer, especially during busy travel seasons.
Bring your drone?
Vietnam is a stunning country to explore by drone. From lush rice terraces and winding rivers to dramatic limestone cliffs and coastal beaches, the landscapes are incredibly photogenic from above. If you’re into aerial photography or videography, definitely pack your drone—you’ll capture scenes that are impossible to get from the ground.
