On day 5, we embarked on a stunning boat tour — best booked from the charming village of Adamantas, as most excursions depart from here. The journey takes you to Kleftikos and Poliegos, two breathtaking parts of Milos that are inaccessible by land.

As you sail across the crystal-clear blue waters, the boat makes several stops for refreshing swims and snorkeling. You'll explore hidden coves, dramatic rock formations, and sea caves that look like something out of a dream. To top it all off, a delicious lunch is served on board, making the experience both scenic and satisfying.

2. Exploring Sarakiniko Beach

Sarakiniko Beach is easily one of the most unique beaches you’ll ever lay eyes on. Despite being called a beach, you won’t find typical sand here. Instead, the landscape is made up of smooth, white volcanic rock, sculpted by wind and waves into surreal shapes — making you feel like you’ve landed on the moon.

The contrast between the bright white stone and the deep turquoise water is simply breathtaking. It’s a favorite spot for cliff jumping too — with natural platforms that let you dive straight into the crystal-clear sea.

3. Visit Plaka – The Capital of Milos

No trip to Milos is complete without a visit to Plaka, the island’s charming capital. This hilltop town is a delight to explore, with its narrow winding streets, whitewashed houses, and colorful bougainvillea spilling over balconies.

Plaka is perfect for a relaxed afternoon stroll. You'll find plenty of cozy restaurants and cafés, ideal for a leisurely meal or a sunset drink with a view. The town has a laid-back, authentic vibe that makes it easy to fall in love with.

4. Sunset at the Church in Plaka

This tip belongs with your visit to Plaka — and it’s an absolute must! Head to the church at the top of Plaka just before sunset, and prepare to be amazed. From this elevated spot, you’ll witness the sun melting into the sea, painting the sky in stunning shades of orange, pink, and gold.

It’s one of the most breathtaking views on the island — peaceful, romantic, and unforgettable.

5. Discover Tsigrado Beach

Another fantastic beach worth visiting is Tsigrado — a true hidden treasure on Milos. The water here is stunningly blue, shimmering against the backdrop of rust-colored cliffs that frame the cove like a secret doorway.

Getting to the beach is part of the adventure! To reach the shore, you’ll need to climb down a narrow cliffside path, using ropes and a wooden ladder. It’s a bit of a challenge, but totally worth it once you arrive.

Tsigrado offers a secluded, magical atmosphere — perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.

6. Fyriplaka Beach

Fyriplaka Beach is another beautiful spot on Milos. While it may not be the island’s most charming or secluded beach, it makes up for it with its wide, open stretch of sand — perfect for spending an entire afternoon.

The beach features soft sand, vivid blue waters, and dramatic cliffs in the background. It’s well-equipped too: you’ll find sunbeds for rent, making it ideal for those who want to relax in comfort and soak up the sun.

6. A trip to charming Mandrakia

Mandrakia is a tiny coastal village that feels like a postcard come to life. Here, you’ll find traditional boat houses known as syrmata, with brightly painted doors in shades of blue, green, red, and yellow — each one adding a splash of color to the serene waterfront.

Small fishing boats still bob gently in the water, giving the place an authentic, timeless feel. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful stroll, soaking in the charm and snapping some beautiful photos.

And while you're here, don’t miss Oasis — a cozy café where you can enjoy a refreshing drink with a view of the sea. Mandrakia is small, but it’s packed with character and well worth the visit.

7. A quick but scenic stop at Papafragas Beach

Papafragas Beach is a striking coastal spot carved between steep cliffs, with a narrow inlet that leads to the sea. It’s definitely worth a short visit — the dramatic rock formations and turquoise water make for a beautiful photo opportunity.

We didn’t stay long here, but it was a fun and scenic stop during our island tour. Perfect for a quick look around, maybe a few pictures, and then back on the road to the next adventure!

7. Exploring Firopotamos

Firopotamos is a peaceful coastal village tucked into a small bay, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and turquoise waters. It’s one of those places that feels like a hidden retreat — quiet, scenic, and full of charm.

You’ll find a handful of traditional boat houses right by the water, and a small beach where you can swim and relax in the sun. The setting is perfect for a slow afternoon: take a dip, enjoy the view, and let the calm atmosphere wash over you.

During our time in Milos, we stayed in two lovely places — each with its own charm and atmosphere.

Santa Maria Village – Adamantas In Adamantas, we stayed at Santa Maria Village, a beautiful hotel located just outside the village, but still within walking distance. It’s a peaceful spot with lovely surroundings and a relaxing vibe. The hotel is well-maintained and definitely worth recommending!

Villa Gallis – Pollonia In Pollonia, we chose Villa Gallis — and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. This stunning boutique hotel is small and intimate, which means no mass tourism and plenty of tranquility. The atmosphere is serene, the design is tasteful, and the views are gorgeous.
