THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN TRAVELLING TO NORWAY
Decided to travel to Norway? Great choice! Below you'll find all the essential tips you need before you go, so you won’t be caught off guard once your adventure begins.
When to travel?
Many of the hikes we’ve planned are only possible during the summer months — roughly from late May to early August. If you’re visiting outside of that window, keep in mind that you definitely won’t be able to do everything!
And even in summer, you need to be prepared for all kinds of weather. I even regretted not bringing gloves when I was there in July.
Budget?
Keep in mind that Norway isn’t exactly cheap! That’s why we often booked Airbnbs with a small kitchen, so we could cook our own meals. Plus, you won’t always find places for lunch or dinner, especially in remote areas — so it was a win-win. We’d often pack leftovers from the night before and eat them during our hikes!
Cash?
Since we use euros in our home country, we didn’t bring any Norwegian kroner on our trip. At first, we were worried this might be a problem — but we never needed cash, not even once! Even in the most remote places, we could pay by card. Super convenient!
